One place on your phone where family can organize and coordinate all the tasks and people involved in caring for an older loved one at home.

The Challenge

Being responsible for someone’s care requires constant attention to a wide variety of daily activities that may change hour-to-hour. They may include: toileting, walking, eating, sleeping, dressing, medications, bathing, home care visits, treatments, glasses, hearing aids, other equipment, daycare, transportation, and doctors’ appointments…and many more. The key to successful care lies in the timing and coordination of activities.

That intricacy makes it difficult to explain and a challenge to delegate. That often leaves one person responsible and having to do it alone. But no one can do it alone. For an older person to age in place, they need a ‘circle of care.’

A Simple Tool that Fundamentally Changes the Caregiving Experience

Our phone app enables the caregiver with primary responsibility to include other family members in the person’s ‘circle of care.’ Everyone can see the calendar and have tasks delegated to them. All the details of the older person’s current state and any changes are available. The app’s simple messaging system makes it easy for everyone in the ‘circle of care’ to be in the loop and ensure that they accomplish the tasks that have been delegated to them.

Now Available to You

The Jointly app is easy to use, and it costs the family nothing. It was developed 13 years ago by Carers UK, a national charity in Great Britain, and has been continually refined to address the specific issues and details that families face. 30,000 families are using it successfully in Great Britain. Community Aging Circles USA, Carers UK’s partner, is now making the Jointly app available in the US.
