Technology Partnership With Carers UK
CAC also looked in the United States and abroad for proven tools that could help families and communities. That search led to a partnership with Carers UK, a national charity with a similar commitment to supporting caregivers and families in their communities.
For more than a decade, Carers UK has developed and continually refined Jointly with its 30,000 users in the UK. Jointly helps families communicate and organize care an easy-to-use app that helps families communicate and organize care. Through this partnership with Carers UK, the app has been adapted for use in the United States and CAC is making it available at no cost to families served by community organizations.
Jointly is an easy-to-use intuitive app that works on smartphones, tablets, and computers. It helps families stay organized by coordinating and communicating all the caregiving tasks. With a clear menu of features, everyone in the ‘circle of care’ can see what needs to be done, share updates, and coordinate schedules and responsibilities. Using Jointly can reduce the day-to-day challenges of caring for a family member at home by making coordination easier and stress more manageable.
The primary caregiver can invite as many people as needed to participate in the ‘circle of care’ and assign each person specific tasks or roles. To protect the privacy of the person being cared for, the primary caregiver can also control what information and app functions each member of the ‘circle of care’ can access.
